It's been over a month since we started this game-dev journey, even though I can only work on my game for around 4 hours a week. I am on the train, heading to work, or on weekends before my daughter wakes up.
My first goal was a simple playable game with a clear beginning and end. And we are there now.
The game will consist of a 2D Tony Hawk-inspired game. You are a skater who must compete to unlock new ramps and levels. Simple but fun.
I remember when I was 14, buying the game boy 2D Tony Hawk game and being completely sad. The game just wasn't punk or skate enough. So I am trying to do precisely the opposite.
Here is how the game looks right now:
But there are still many bugs and details that need to be fixed. That's why I'll be streaming with a friend who will answer all my questions today. If you want to see Under the hood and have a sneak peek of the game, join us in the stream today at 3 PM (EST).
Here is his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@StephenScottDayGames
Joining will be the best way to see what I've been working on, so see you there!
